Blue Badge Scheme
The Blue Badge scheme provides a range of parking concessions for people with severe mobility problems who have difficulty using public transport. The scheme operates throughout the UK. You can get more information from your local council at the following pages:
Disabled Persons Railcard
If you have a disability that makes travelling by train difficult you may qualify for the Disabled Person's Railcard. The Railcard allows you - and an adult companion with you - to get a 1/3 off most Standard and First Class fares throughout Great Britain. For more information click on the link below.
Travel Concessions
If you live permanently in the West Midlands county and meet certain criteria you may be entitled to a free travel pass from Centro. For more information please click on the following link.
From April 2008 the new National Concessionary Travel Scheme is introduced. It is a new scheme which is to be introduced by the government from 1st April 2008 giving all Senior Citizens and eligible people with a disability free travel, on bus only, between the hours of 9.30am to 11.00pm Monday to Friday and all day Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holidays anywhere in England. West Midlands Special Needs Transport
West Midlands Special Needs Transport (WMSNT) provides a range of transport and training services intended to improve the Quality of Life of people who find it difficult or impossible to use conventional public transport. Services available include Ring and Ride and Taxibus. You can get more information about the these services at the following link.
